๐ฟ Health & Happiness on the Cheap
๐ก Wellness Doesnโt Need a Luxury Price Tag
Health and happiness are frequently marketed like luxury goods. If you buy this or join that, youโll finally feel better.
However, health and happiness are more like sunlight. Itโs available to everyone, every day โ๏ธ.
Creating a healing, energized life comes from small daily actions, not expensive memberships, biohacking gadgets, or supplements.
Your well-being just needs intentional and consistent attention with a little extra tender loving care.
You donโt have to follow my exact routine, but you do need something that fits naturally into your life.
Iโll share what works for me and offer simple, low-cost ways you can begin.
The goal isnโt perfection; itโs about progress.
๐ง Mind: Feed It Like You Would a Fire
Your mind is like a campfire ๐ฅ. It needs the right fuel to burn bright. And if it doesnโt get it, it will burn out.
I keep mine mind alive through reading, meditation, drawing, painting, playing bass guitar, and photography.
These arenโt just hobbies. Theyโre forms of mental growth and emotional regulation.
The beauty is that most of them cost little to nothing to start. You donโt need a fancy studio. Just find a quiet corner and get curious.
What I do:
๐ Read daily (library books, borrowed, or digital)
๐ง Meditate (20 minutes)
๐จ Draw, paint, or create (5โ20 minutes)
๐ธ Play bass guitar and learn new pieces
๐ธ Practice photography (inspired by pausing to look)
โ๏ธ Journal daily (8 minutes)
Other low-cost ways to strengthen your mind:
Visit your local library or attend free events/lectures
Practice breathing exercises
Use visualization techniques
๐ง Listen to podcasts or audiobooks
Learn new skills on ๐ Coursera (free courses available)
๐โโ๏ธ Body: Move It Like It Was Designed To
Your body is like a car ๐. If it sits too long, it breaks down faster than if itโs used regularly.
Movement doesnโt require a gym membership; it requires intention and a little creativity.
My routine includes calisthenics, Animal Flow, yoga, dancing, running, walking, unicycling, biking, hiking, and eating a whole food, plant-based diet ๐ฟ.
These practices keep me strong, mobile, and energized without draining my wallet.
What I do:
๐ช Calisthenics (push-ups, pull-ups, squats)
๐ Animal Flow or mobility work
๐ง Yoga
๐ Dance (at home or outdoors)
๐ Run or walk daily
๐ด Bike or unicycle
๐ฅพ Hike in local parks
Other low-cost ways to move your body:
Lift weights at home (resistance bands or basic dumbbells)
Play tennis or basketball at public parks ๐๐พ
Follow free workouts on
๐ YouTube
Join community recreation programs
Try jump rope, stair workouts, or park circuits
๐ฅ Food as Medicine: Eat Simply, Thrive Deeply
Food is either fuel or friction. It either helps your system run smoothly or slows it down โ๏ธ.
Whole food, plant-based meals do not have to be expensive.
Staples like beans, rice, oats, potatoes, and seasonal produce are some of the most affordable foods available.
Think of your body like a high-performance engine. The cleaner the fuel, the better it will run and the longer it will last.
Cooking at home not only saves money but reconnects you with what youโre putting into your body. Simplicity here is power.
Low-cost nutrition staples: ๐ฅ
Beans & lentils
๐ Rice & whole grains
๐ฅ Potatoes & root vegetables
๐ฅฌ Seasonal greens and cabbage
๐ Fruits (fresh or frozen)

๐ฟ Spirit: Ground Yourself Like a Tree
Your spirit is like the roots of a tree ๐ณ. The deeper and more nourished they are, the more stable and resilient you become.
My daily practices are simple but powerful: I pray, take nature walks, practice grounding (touching trees and plants), and reflect on gratitude ๐.
Every morning, I write and read: โToday will be my peaceful day.โ This phrase acts like a compass, guiding my mindset throughout the day.
I also make it a point to do one thing daily that brings joy or creates fun. Because joy shouldnโt happen by chance; it should be intentional.
These practices donโt cost money, but they pay back in calm, clarity, connection, and smiles.
What I do:
๐ Prayer
๐ฟ Nature walks or trail running/riding
๐ Grounding (touching trees, plants, and the ground)
โ๏ธ Daily affirmation
๐ Gratitude practice - Count Your Blessings
๐ Plan and do at least one joyful or fun thing daily
Other low-cost ways to nourish your spirit:
๐ Read religious or spiritual texts
๐ Track the stars and planets
๐ฏ๏ธ Sit in silence or practice breathwork
๐ถ Listen to meaningful music
๐งญ Volunteer your time in an organization that resonates with your shared values
๐ค Social: Connection Is Medicine
Human connection is like air ๐จ. You donโt notice how essential it is until itโs missing.
I stay connected by calling and texting family and friends, dancing with my wife ๐, talking with people in my community, and engaging with like-minded people online.
One of the most underrated skills is listeningโtruly hearing others without distraction.
Social health doesnโt require expensive outings; it thrives on presence, attention, and shared moments.
Think of relationships like a dual support system. The more you connect with others the more people with connect with you.
What I do:
๐ Call and text family & friends
๐ Dance with my wife
๐ Connect with like-minded communities
Engage in small talk with people you meet in your community
๐ Practice active listening
Other low-cost ways to build social health:
๐ฒ Cook or prepare a meal together
โ Go for coffee or a walk
๐ฒ Host a game or collage night

๐ Final Thought: Itโs About Direction, Not Dollars
Improving your life doesnโt require a big budget, expensive memberships, fancy equipment, or endless supplements. It requires daily intention.
Think of your mind, body, spirit, and social health like the four legs of a table ๐ช. When one is weak, everything feels off balance.
At the end of the day, your health is less like a purchase and more like a practice ๐งญ. You donโt need to buy your way into feeling good; you need to build your way there, one habit at a time.
Like brushing your teeth, small daily actions matter far more than occasional big efforts. If you stay consistent with simple, low-cost behaviors, the return on investment is enormous.
Start where you are, use what you have, and keep moving forward. Keep showing up for yourself, one day at a time.
Your future self will thank you ๐๐
